Promotion Goal: Build awareness for ASICS athletic shoes among teenage athletes


Solution: Custom-branded music cards distributed at athletic events


ASICS America Corporation, a leading athletic shoe manufacturer, scored big points with the digital music card promotion it launched to build brand awareness among teenage athletes.


Working with Promotional Currency, ASICS developed a customized music card featuring a free song to give away at the high school sporting events it sponsored.


Laura Greatbanks, marketing manager for ASICS’ Team Sports division, called the promotion a huge success.


“Our first event was a cheerleading competition,” notes Greatbanks. “When word got out that we were passing out music cards, there was so much excitement that I even had younger siblings and parents coming up and asking for one.”


“What makes this promotion so great for us is that we do a lot of repeat events throughout the year but are able to give away a different gift each time,” she adds. “It’s the same giveaway but because its music, people have a million songs to choose from so it never gets old.”
