Solution: In-pack digital music promotion good for one free song


Carl Buddig and Company, a leading producer of deli meats and sausages, wanted a compelling in-pack promotion that would appeal to its broad consumer base. The company got the performance it needed thanks to a two-step in-pack digital music promotion developed by Promotional Currency.


The free song giveaway, launched in the second quarter of 2007, was incorporated into millions of Buddig and Old Wisconsin packages. Each package featured a unique code, along with a URL directing consumers to either www.buddig.com or www.oldwisconsin.com. To redeem their free song, consumers needed only to log onto the correlating URL and enter their package code and email address. Upon completion, a music code good for one free song was emailed to them, along with download instructions.


The promotion was a big hit – elevating product sales by 15% and driving millions of consumers to the company’s web site.
