Promotion Goal: Generate Awareness/drive Wal-Mart sales of new Kane & Lynch game

Solution: Kane & Lynch licensed mobile content promotion, available exclusively at walmart.com/mobile

Eidos Interactive, a leading game developer, was interested in expanding its customer base in Wal-Mart and generating awareness and sales for its highly anticipated Kane & Lynch video game. The Answer? A gift-with-purchase mobile content promotion utilizing licensed content from the Kane & Lynch game – available exclusively at Wal-Mart.

Promotional Currency developed the promotion parameters for Eidos and pushed it through Wal-Mart's approval process. To deliver the exclusive content, PC worked with mobile content provider PlayPhone to convert the music and images from the Kane & Lynch game into ringtones and wallpaper images and upload them into the walmart.com/mobile store.

"This is one of the first times a video game provider has offered this kind of value add for consumers at Wal-Mart and Promotional Currency made the process easy," notes Robert Lindsey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Eidos. "Once we got the game assets to them, they worked with PlayPhone to create appropriate ringtones and wallpaper images in a matter of days. They also turned around a landing page for us.
